Turf Management Program
Combine Lawn Mowing Service and Natural Organic Fertilizing Service.

Lawn Mowing Service
Our Lawn Mowing Service fully implements the sustainable horticultural practices of the 1/3 cut rule, the mulching of clippings and the maintaining of optimum grass height.  With each service we trim the lawn, edge the sidewalks and curbs and blow off the driveway and walkways.  In keeping with sustainable practices, we normally mulch in the grass clippings but will catch and haul them away as we deem necessary (i.e. autumn leaves).  An additional charge of $5 per garbage can of yard waste will be added to that day’s invoice.  We automatically pick up any pet waste present at the time of our visit and dispose of it.  An additional charge of $1.00 per “spot” will be added to that day’s invoice.  We mow your lawn at the optimum grass height of 3 inches in the spring and fall, 3 ½ – 4 inches in the summer.  In order to maintain this optimum height, we adjust our mowing frequency between 4–7 day cycles (or if needed, we will skip a week) so to never scalp or over stress the lawn.  We reserve the right to vary these procedures in order to sustain the health of the soil and lawn.  We are not responsible for any damage done to mal-functioning sprinkler heads.
Fertilizing Service
Our Natural Organic Fertilizing Service is 100% natural and sustainable.  We do not use toxic pesticides or synthetic chemicals.  Our service addresses the chemical, physical and biological components of the soil. With the results of a soil test, we will amend the lawn to restore the natural balance and re-establish the biological defenses of your soil.  Typically this service will include 4 or 5 amendments (i.e. fertilizing, top dressing, over-seeding, core-aeration, tea sprays).
1/3 Cut Rule
The rule is never to cut more than 1/3 of the grass blade on any one day.  We vary the frequency between cuts based on season and weather forecasts in order to follow this very important rule.  If you don't follow this rule, it takes a whole month to regain the heartiness of your lawn.
Optimum Grass Height
We typically mow at 3 inches as the best method for maintaining a healthy and vibrant lawn.  This helps reduce the watering needs and keeps the weeds to a minimum.
